Youtuber “DIY Perks” Showcases Ether Power
When YouTube creator Matt Perks of DIY Perks set out to imagine a truly wireless workstation, he turned to Etherdyne’s Ether Power Zone technology to make it happen. So we shipped him our eval kit and waited to see what his imagination would unfold…
Matt’s video demonstrates a full productivity setup running entirely on Ether Power. His custom four-foot-by-two-foot desk features an integrated Etherdyne Technologies transmission loop that creates a three dimensional power zone supplying energy to every device within range. The video shows him powering a microphone, heated mug, mouse, speakers, and even a monitor.
To prove the point, Matt even removes the battery from his wireless mouse and replaces it with a small Etherdyne Technologies receiver coil. He then 3D-prints custom housings for the other peripherals and integrates receivers directly inside. A modified 24-inch monitor rests on a base containing two 7-watt power loops, allowing him to cut the power cord entirely.
Unlike conventional wireless charging pads, the Ether Power System doesn’t require precise alignment. Using a 6.78 MHz transmission frequency, the loop can deliver power over distances of up to three feet with consistent efficiency — meaning devices remain powered simply by existing within the field.
The project perfectly captures what Etherdyne’s technology enables: freedom from clutter, creative flexibility, and a cleaner, safer workspace. It also hints at the broader potential, where safe wireless power will change how we think about energy delivery.
